Oklahoma is the proof that roofing law is a moving target: House Bill 1628 turned the state's simple Attorney-General-style registration into registration plus a mandatory Residential Roofing Endorsement — with an exam, a grandfather clock, and no more warnings for working unregistered.
The amended clock (SB 1873): the grandfather transition runs January 1, 2027 to January 1, 2028, and the endorsement is required for all residential roofing starting January 1, 2028 — superseding HB 1628's original mid-2027 deadline. Existing registrants: the CE route inside the window is the cheapest credential you will ever be offered. New entrants: register and sit the exam; there is no pre-2026 world to grandfather into. Everyone: ignore any guide — several still rank — that describes Oklahoma as “registration, no exam.” That sentence is dead.
The checker gives you the verdict. The kit gives you the paperwork, in filing order: the application walkthrough for your state's class, qualifying-party documentation templates, the bond and insurance spec sheet with your state's exact minimums, the city-registration checklist pack for no-license states, and the contract-compliance pack (deductible language and required contract notices, including Florida's deadlines calendar).
