Exam prep: the price list nobody puts next to the state fee

Search “roofing license exam” and you get a storefront: tiers, countdown timers, “no pass no pay.” The state fee for the same exam is usually two or three hundred dollars and includes no timer. This page exists so the two numbers appear in the same room.

First-time pass rates are the real cost driver: a failed exam costs a re-take fee plus a season of delay — prep is cheap insurance for a qualifying party years from a classroom
Read the exam's own outline first (boards publish content areas and reference lists); buy prep for the areas you're actually weak in
“No pass no pay” returns the class fee if you fail — it does not return the season you lost
Never let a school file your application as a bundle without seeing the state's own fee itemized — the application itself is free to file
